Amazing Alicante: 2009 Sierra Salinas Alicante!!

What a great blend here, a Spanish red that comes across more like a $30+ Priorat than a tinto from the relatively more obscure Alicante region. Rich, full bodied, yet superbly balanced. This is cryin[more]

Shatter Grenache: C’est Grande!!

FREE Weekend Wine Tasting

*** SATURDAY/SUNDAY SAMPLING ***
rps
You know at least one of the wines that’s coming this weekend during our regular FREE wine soirées that happen Saturday 11-6 or Sunday 12-5., that being the delightfully delicious 2015 BUCKMAN WINE CO. Pinot Noir. Equally enticing, I think, will be the top wine on the list, and an incredibly rare drinking opportunity. Intrigued? You should be…..
2014 RIDGE VINEYARDS Petite Sirah “Lytton Estate” $41.95 (and yes, despite the screen grab we are pouring the new 2014 vintage)…an incredibly hard to come by bottling from this California legend. We are getting a whopping 2 cases, so I thought, “Why not share?” This is stunning juice! Oh, and there’s this from Antonio Galloni of Vinous: “The 2014 Petite Sirah Lytton Estate is outstanding. Deep, luscious and intense, but with none of the aggressiveness Petite so often presents, the 2014 is utterly captivating from the very first taste. Dark red and blue-hued stone fruits, mint, spices and licorice are front and center. The purity of the fruit here is simply remarkable. As hard as it may be to believe, the 2014 can be enjoyed on the young side. This is a tremendous wine. Don’t miss it! 95 points”
2015 BUCKMAN WINE CO. Pinot Noir $17.95…you read all about it. Now you get to see why I’m very happy with this beauty!
2012 CHATEAU L’AUBRADE Bordeaux $9.95…we just bought out the distributor’s current stock on this remarkable Bordeaux that has depth and style. We loved it at it’s regular $14.95 price. At $9.95 a pop now it’s a steal!!
