Amazing Alicante: 2009 Sierra Salinas Alicante!!

FREE Weekend Wine Tasting

du-gir (1)
Pretty excited for the weekend of wine tasting here at VINO that will be happening Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-5. All the wines are terrific, but one in particular has me salivating as I get to relive one of the best experiences from our Italian vacation last June. That being my first taste at the winery of the 2012 Montaribaldi “Du Gir” Barbera d’Alba. We had an incredible visit with Luciano Taliano, but with my Barbera loving palate on high alert I was totally taken with this 2012 single-vineyard bottling. Instant classic! I’ve carried it the last several vintages here at VINO and this is easily the best Du Gir I’ve ever tasted and I am so excited to share this stunning Barbera. For twenty bucks this is a steal! Those other enticements we’re pouring will make you pretty happy, too, I promise! See you here….
2012 MONTARIBALDI Barbera d’Alba “Du Gir” $19.95
n/v VINI DEL RE Lambrusco “Grasparossa di Castelvetro” $13.95…all over north central Italy this is what people drink with their salumi platters. In case you haven’t also noticed, we in Portland consume LOTS of cured meat products. Finally this dry yet fruit filled Lambrusco from the esteemed “Grasparossa di Castelvetro” appellation is a steal. Need I say more?!?
2015 REVERDITO Nascetta $13.95…this is vivacious, practically electric Piedmontese vino bianco  that has become a go to at my house. You’ll love it’s mineral-salt tinged finish, too. Bring on the shellfish!!
2015 PRIMITIVO QUILES Monastrell Rosado $9.95…because it’s hot and you don’t want to spend a lot to cool off! ‘nuff said!!
