All about the new: 2014 SWICK WINES Grenache “Terre Brulée”

I think that young Joe Swick is making some of the most interesting and exciting wines in Oregon right now. His Blanc de Noir from pinot noir was one of my favorite wines of the summer, his regular pi[more]

Single Vineyard Sensation! 2011 Montaribaldi “Du Gir” Barbera d’Alba

FREE Weekend Wine Tasting

mohr-frye-zin1As mentioned in the open we are open limited hours this weekend, Saturday only 11-4pm. We will make it most assuredly worth your while to stop by as corks will be popped on some rather seriously delicious wines, including what has become my current favorite old vine zinfandel from California and an extremely ridiculous buy on a fabulous Prosecco (think was $18.95, now $13.95!!). Plus a few other taste treats thrown into the mix as well. Time is limited this weekend, so take full advantage!
-2013 ST. AMANT Zinfandel “Mohr-Frye Ranch” $18.95…true, classic old vine California zin that come from own-rooted vines that range from 70-115 years old!!!
-2013 LOVE & SQUALOR “Garageland” Pinot Noir $20.95…an homage to The Clash that is, like everything from winemaker Matt Berson, tunefully delicious!
-2013 DI MAJO NORANTE Sangiovese $10.95…super bargain Italian sangiovese with a nifty 90 point score from The Wine Advocate attached!
-n/v NINO FRANCO Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut “Rustico” $13.95 (was $18.95)…this is an exceptionally well made Prosecco from the heart of the Valdobbiadene, the home of the finest Proseccos, and Nino Franco is rightfully considered one of the finest producers in the whole AOC. This is most definitely not mass produced, character-less fizz. Finely made, exceptionally balanced, very flavorful,  and a must if you appreciate great Prosecco. The Wine Spectator had this to say: “This spicy Prosecco has good cut to it, with firm acidity backing aromatic notes of orange blossom, green apple and almond…with a hint of smoky mineral supporting subtle ripe apple, floral and nut notes.” At this¨über-affordable price and five buck a bottle discount, it is unquestionably the best Prosecco buy in town!!
