Vermentino: Fun to say, delicious to drink!

Believe me when I say in a place like the Ligurian coast of Italy, due south of the Piedmont, they know a thing or two about making wine that matches the natural bounty that comes from the sparkling M[more]

French Connection: 2015 RÉSONANCE Pinot Noir “Willamette Valley”

Very excited to offer this new release from the much talked about Oregon outpost of Burgundy’s Maison Louis Jadot and their legendary winemaker Jacques Tardy. Not to give the spoiler, but this 2015 [more]

2016 FLAT BRIM Sauvignon Blanc “Columbia Gorge”

Winemaker Ian Atkins has a low key approach to his winemaking, taking the time to let the fruit do the talking rather than forcing the conversation. This approach, of which we wholeheartedly agree wit[more]

Burgundy Bargain: 2014 GUEUGNON-REMOND Macon-Charnay

This is a shout out to all of you who thought you had to sacrifice life’s necessities to drink classic white Burgundy. Rest…and drink…easy with this rich, creamy, apple, fig, melon, and honey sp[more]

Holy cow! I just tasted this a few days ago and was blown away by this incredible Chateauneuf-du-Pape lookalike and had to share, stat! This is a wonderfully intense, hedonistic drinking experience. D[more]

2014 Juan Gil Monastrell- aka “Marvelous Mourvedre”!

So happy to have this long time VINO favorite back in store! A big, dark, full-bodied Monastrell (aka “mourvedre”) that never fails to satisfy and has a remarkable ability to age. I recently had a[more]

This is a brilliantly made Portuguese white, a vinho verde in name only. Incredible presence and style on the palate and an absolutely absurd affinity with food. Wines like this are so rare to come ac[more]

FREE Weekend Wine Tasting

~ ~ ~ SATURDAY/SUNDAY SAMPLING ~ ~ ~
This is a big wine weekend for most of you as you gear up for the holiday dinners and entertaining still to come, so we’re going to be showing off some perfect table setting wines all weekend here at the wine shack during our free wine sampling. Wines of many flavors and prices to work with whatever you may have coming over the next couple of weeks. Yes, you will find something to love below. Not being cocky, just feeling it for our lovely temptations! Let’s get pouring Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-5…
~2012 LUCIEN BARROT Chateauneuf du Pape $41.95…because you deserve it! Classic Chateauneuf that I am super stoked to share. A personal favorite. LOVE THIS JUICE!!
92 pts-Vinous: “Spicy, floral red fruits on the fragrant nose. Sappy and appealingly sweet, offering fresh raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of peppery spices. Closes silky, sweet and long, with zesty lift and smooth tannins. Nicely done.”
91 pts-Wine Spectator: “On the chewy, old-school side of the ledger, with tobacco and bay notes mingling with leathery tannins while the core of cherry and currant fruit slowly unwinds. Sanguine and iron accents grace the finish. Pair with cassoulet. Drink now through 2025.”
~2015 WINES OF SUBSTANCE Cabernet Sauvignon “Columbia Valley” $16.95…another amazing offering from the mad rocker of Washington wine, Charles Smith!
92 pts-Wine Advocate: “One of the best values I’ve tasted in a long time, the 2015 Cabernet from the team at K Vintners was hand-harvested and natively fermented. Smoking good notes of cassis, black currants and hints of plum all emerge from this rich, beautifully textured, layered beauty that has solid tannic grip, a silky, elegant texture and a great finish. It has real elegance and finesse and is a dark fruited, unctuous beauty to drink over the coming 3-4 years.”
~2015 RUGGERI CORSINI Barbera d’Alba $14.95 …one of my favorite “everyday” Barberas from the stellar ’15 vintage, this is a beauty at this price!
~2015 CHATEAU DE FONTENILLE Bordeaux Blanc $14.95…classic Bordeaux, a pitch perfect sauv blend-semillon blend that pops with bright acid and urgently fresh flavors! Crazy good food white!
