In case you guys haven’t heard, there’s this Covid thing going around, and man, is it effing with my plans! With that, several things are happening you need to know about:
1-) Following the lead of the NBA’s billionaire owners and millionaire players, my head is telling me that the prudent and responsible thing to do to ensure the health of all of you, my employees, and yes, myself, is to cancel tonight’s Italian importer tasting and all future Friday Flights until the madness dies down (talking about the Covid-19, not our appalling lack of rational national leadership). Also, when my son’s school cancels their variety show scheduled for tomorrow, you know sh*t’s getting real! And he had just honed his “comedy” act😬, that included this gem:
Q: What do you call a monkey when you take away his banana?
A: Furious George!
2-) On the regular business front, we will be open our usual hours Tuesday-Sunday, although Fridays we’ll be closing at 6pm. WE WILL be doing our Saturday/Sunday free tastings us usual. Also take note we’ll be closed the last week of March for spring break March 23-31.
3-) Dep’t. Of Sanitation: rest assured that I am doing whatever I can to make sure we’re as clean as possible. Using disinfectant wipes several times a day on all door handles, bathroom fixtures, and everything else that looks suspicious. Antibacterial soaps in the bathrooms. Personally, I’m washing my hands so often that I think I have have scrubbed off my fingerprints, but so be it.
PS- to the secondary sellers on Amazon who are gouging the American people by trying to charge $30+ for your precious 8oz bottle of Purell, remember: “Karma is always fair!”😡
4-) WINE DELIVERY!! Yes, taking the next step should you feel better not interacting in public, we are happy to deliver wines to your homes in the Portland area for a small fee, probably $10-$15 per delivery. If you know what you want we can gather it together for you, or custom curate a few bottles to get you through these trying times. Let us know via phone/email and we’ll make sure your thirst is kept at bay! Delivery schedule will be worked out, but most likely will be able to do it Monday-Thursday.
That’s all I have for now. Crazy days indeed, and keeping in mind there are millions of people in the world that are in a lot worse shape than most of us here.
Here’s to keeping healthy, taking precautions without panic, and most of all thank you as always for your support and understanding. Stay strong!!
And for god’s sake, why is everyone hoarding toilet paper?? Come on, America, be better!!
