Psst, have you heard? Orange wines are all the rage. Wine nerds world wide are getting all hot and sweaty for these white wines that are left on the skin to pull out some color. Problem is, too many of them are also oxidized, flawed, and rather unpleasant. Then you have this incredibly satisfying beauty from Pravis, a small family run estate in the gorgeous foothills of the Dolomite Mountains in NE Italy. Very pale salmon pink with superb, vibrant aromatics of fig, flower, pear, and wet stone. The palate is gorgeously textured and pure, the skins giving it added depth and richness. Crisp, clean, and complex on the finish, this is terrifically made vino bianco, which in an ocean of innocuous, uninspiring grigio is wonderful to experience. A personal favorite that would be perfect with Dungeness crab or whatever your favorite seafood preparation happens to be. So well done here!!
