Pinot Pinnacle: 2015 WALTER SCOTT Pinot Noir- Single Vineyards

As you surely know by now I hold winemaker Ken Pahlow and his partner in wine and life Erica Landon in highest regard when it comes to producing profoundly great local wine. I just found out an hour ago he has tiny amounts of two of his highly rated and rapidly vaporizing ’15 single vineyard pinot noir still available. If you want to see Oregon pinot as good as it gets at any price, then please take advantage. These are spectacular!
2015 WALTER SCOTT Pinot Noir “Freedom Hill Vineyard”
$47.95 bottle/ $240.00 half case/ $460.00 case
“Explosive aromas of cherry and dark berry liqueur, smoky Indian spices, musky earth and incense take on a sexy floral nuance as the wine stretches out. Fleshy and broad on the palate but surprisingly lithe as well, offering intense blackberry, boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors and hints of candied flowers and cola. Finishes seamless, sweet and extremely long, featuring an echo of juicy blue fruit and chewy tannins that add shape and youthful grip. 94 points.” -Vinous

2015 WALTER SCOTT Pinot Noir “Sojourner Vineyard”
$47.95 bottle/ $240.00 half case/ $460.00 case
“Vibrant, smoke-accented aromas of fresh dark berries, cherry pit, licorice and candied rose pick up a hint of cola with air. Shows very good clarity and depth on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry, bitter cherry cola and floral pastille flavors and a touch of allspice. Finishes very long and sappy, featuring sneaky tannins, a vanilla flourish and strong, floral-driven persistence.  93 points. -Vinous
