THIS is value: Le Clos des Lumieres Cotes du Rhone!!

2010 DOMAINE LE CLOS DES LUMIERES Cotes du Rhone
$9.95 bottle/ $95.00 case

Once again I am amazed. How in the world can I possibly be drinking this well and yet paying so little??! It’s not the exchange rate, because we’re still taking a beating. I can’t explain  it, but at this price I can certainly afford to enjoy it…at will! From the most excellent 2010 vintage, this is loaded with kirsch, blackberry, earth, and the smells and tastes of the wild herb covered hills that surround the tiny village of Fournes that lies about 30km west of Avignon. Another reason I love the south of France. This makes me pine for a steaming bowl of cassoulet! It totally reminds me of the inexpensive and delicious wines I used to be able to buy about ten or fifteen years ago that always satisfied without emptying my wallet. Great juice for the money here!!
